Job said, “the morning stars sang together” (Job 38:7). Wow! Meditate on that a moment! The planets sing praise unto God. God created the whole universe to praise Him! Isaiah said, “the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands” (Isa. 55:120). David wrote, “the Heavens declare the glory of God” (Psa. 19:1).
The Psalmist spoke to the planets, and even to the elements to praise the Lord. He demanded that the Sun, Moon, stars, waters, fire, hail, snow, vapors, stormy wind, mountains, hills, fruitful trees, and cedars to praise the Lord (Psa 148:1-9)!
“NASA has discovered a group of massive red stars that are actually humming to themselves. The planet-hunting Kepler space telescope recently spotted sound waves emanating from the stars, the Wall Street Journal reports. NASA recorded the tune, and played it recently at a press conference in Denmark. ‘It is a giant red concert,’ says the astronomer who made the recording. ‘They have many different frequencies and overtones.’ The sound waves can help astronomers determine the size, density, age, and structure of the stars, in much the same way seismic waves reveal details about Earth’s interior. ‘To measure the size of the star, we essentially measure the tone of these musical notes,’ says one astronomer. The sound waves travel down into the star and bring information back up to the surface of the star that Kepler can see as flickering.” (Newser)
THE EARTH HUMS
"Earth gives off a relentless hum of countless notes completely imperceptible to the human ear, like a giant, exceptionally quiet symphony, but the origin of this sound remains a mystery. Now unexpected powerful tunes have been discovered in this hum. These findings could shed light on the source of this enigma. The planet emanates a constant rumble far below the limits of human hearing, even when the ground isn’t shaking from an earthquake. (It does not cause the ringing in the ear linked with tinnitus.) This sound, first discovered a decade ago, is one that only scientific instruments—seismometers—can detect. Researchers call it Earth’s hum.” (Live Science)
WHAT HAS HE DONE FOR YOU?
If God created all things to praise Him, then we should also praise Him, for we are a new creation in Christ Jesus. To praise Him means to respond to what He has done, while worship responds to Who He is. I ask you, “What has He done for you?” He is Healer and is worthy of worship simply for Who He is—Healer. Has He ever healed you? Then praise Him, responding to what He has done for you—healed you. Remember that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psa. 22:3), meaning if you want the Lord’s attention, then praise Him and He will inhabit your praises, which means He will come and sit down with you!
